Agent integration

Connect an assistant

Link ChatGPT or Claude to RIVAGO so your assistant can look up estimate requests, reviews, gallery projects and warranty certificates for you.

Connection link

You will be asked to sign in with your RIVAGO account and approve access the first time you connect.

Automatic check

Is the integration working?

  • Running checks…

This check runs against the site you are viewing right now. Run it on the published site to confirm what ChatGPT and Claude will see.

Credentials

Credentials and environment setup

You do not need to create or paste any API key to connect ChatGPT or Claude: the connection uses a secure sign-in (OAuth) with your RIVAGO account. These are the steps to confirm everything is configured.

  1. 1Make sure you have a RIVAGO admin account and can sign in on this site — that account is the credential the assistant uses.
  2. 2Publish the site so the connection link uses the public address (rivagomaintenance.com), not a preview link.
  3. 3Confirm the four automatic checks above are green — they validate the connection endpoint, discovery data, sign-in service and approval screen.
  4. 4Paste the connection link in ChatGPT or Claude and approve access once; the assistant stores its own access token automatically.
  5. 5Never share your password, session token or any key from the browser with an assistant or third party — a valid connection never asks for them.

Environment variables (technical)

These are managed by the site's backend and are already configured. If a check above fails, they are what a developer should review:

  • VITE_SUPABASE_PROJECT_ID identifies the sign-in service that issues access tokens for the connection.
  • SUPABASE_URL / SUPABASE_PUBLISHABLE_KEY used on the server so each tool reads only the data your account is allowed to see.
  • No extra API key or secret needs to be added for the assistant connection.

Connect ChatGPT

  1. 1Open chatgpt.com/#settings/Connectors/Advanced and turn on Developer mode (read the risk notice shown there).
  2. 2In the chat composer, open the “+” menu and turn on Developer mode.
  3. 3Click “Add sources”, then “Connect more”.
  4. 4Give the connector a name and paste the connection link above.
  5. 5Ask ChatGPT to use RIVAGO.

Connect Claude

  1. 1Open claude.ai/customize/connectors?modal=add-custom-connector.
  2. 2Give the connector a name and paste the connection link above.
  3. 3Enable the connector from the chat composer, then ask Claude to use RIVAGO.

Refresh in ChatGPT

After the site is updated, refresh the connector so your assistant sees the latest capabilities.

  1. 1Open ChatGPT settings and select RIVAGO under “Enabled apps”.
  2. 2Next to “Information”, click “Refresh”.
  3. 3If the link changed, paste the latest one from above.
  4. 4Start a new chat and ask ChatGPT to use RIVAGO.

Refresh in Claude

After the site is updated, refresh the connector so your assistant sees the latest capabilities.

  1. 1Open the Connectors page and select the RIVAGO connector.
  2. 2Refresh or update the connector’s tools.
  3. 3If the link changed, paste the latest one from above.
  4. 4Ask Claude to use RIVAGO.

Troubleshooting

Common errors when connecting ChatGPT or Claude, and how to resolve them.

“Could not connect” or the link is rejected
Make sure you pasted the full connection link ending in /mcp, with no extra spaces, and that you used the published site address (not a preview link).
“Unauthorized” or 401 error
This is expected before you sign in. Complete the sign-in and approval screen that opens in the browser; if no window opens, allow pop-ups for chatgpt.com or claude.ai and try again.
The approval screen shows an error or a blank page
Open the connection link in a normal (non-private) browser window, sign in to the site first, then retry the connection from the assistant.
The assistant does not see the new tools
Refresh the connector using the steps above, then start a brand-new chat. Existing chats keep the old tool list.
ChatGPT doesn’t show “Add sources”
Developer mode must be enabled both in Settings → Connectors → Advanced and in the “+” menu of the chat composer.
A check above is red
Publish the latest version of the site and run the check again. If it stays red, the connection service needs review — share the red item when asking for help.
The assistant answers without using RIVAGO
Enable the connector in the chat composer and ask explicitly: “Use the RIVAGO connector to…”.
Access stopped working after a while
Sessions expire. Remove the connector, add it again with the link above and approve the access screen once more.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What can the assistant actually do?
It can look up estimate requests, client reviews, gallery projects and warranty certificates, and help you draft answers based on them.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Every request uses your own sign-in, so the assistant only reaches the data your account is allowed to see. Nothing is shared publicly.
Do I need an API key or a paid plan?
No API key is needed and the connection is part of the site. You only need a ChatGPT or Claude account that supports connectors.
Can I revoke access later?
Yes. Remove the connector from ChatGPT or Claude at any time and access stops immediately.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, in the ChatGPT and Claude mobile apps that support connectors. Set the connector up once and it is available everywhere you sign in.
Can other people use my connector?
No. The connector is tied to the account that approved it. Each team member connects with their own RIVAGO account.
