Remodeling FAQ

Process, timelines, warranty and financing

The questions homeowners ask us most before starting a kitchen or bathroom remodel in Orange County.

How does a kitchen or bathroom remodel start?

It starts with a free walkthrough — in person or by video. We measure, review finishes and photos you like, and send a written scope with a fixed price. Nothing is ordered or demoed until you approve that scope in writing.

What are the stages of the project?

Design and material selection, protection and demolition, rough work (plumbing, electrical, framing as needed), tile and cabinetry, countertops, paint and finish carpentry, then punch list and final walkthrough with you.

Do you handle permits and licensed trades?

Yes. When a remodel changes plumbing, electrical or structure, we coordinate the permit with your city and bring in licensed trade partners. Cosmetic work such as cabinet refacing, paint or hand rail refinishing usually needs no permit.

Can we live in the home during the remodel?

In most cases yes. We seal off the work area with dust barriers, protect floors and paths, keep at least one bathroom usable when possible, and clean the site at the end of each work day.

How fast do I get my estimate?

We typically confirm your appointment the same business day and deliver the written estimate within 24 to 48 hours of the walkthrough.

How long does a remodel take?

Cabinet refacing runs about 3 to 5 days. A bathroom remodel is usually 2 to 3 weeks. A full kitchen remodel typically takes 4 to 6 weeks, driven mostly by countertop templating and cabinet lead times.

What happens if something delays the schedule?

You get a milestone schedule up front and updates whenever a date moves. Common causes are material backorders, permit review or hidden conditions found after demolition — we document any change in writing before continuing.

What does the work warranty cover?

Every completed remodel gets a warranty certificate with a unique code covering our workmanship — finish defects, adhesion, installation and finish carpentry. Manufacturer defects in cabinets, tile or fixtures are covered by the product manufacturer, and we help you file those claims.

How do I verify my certificate or file a claim?

Use the warranty page to verify your certificate code online, or open a claim with photos in a few minutes. Claims are reviewed by our team and you receive a written response with next steps.

Are you insured, and do you use quality materials?

Yes — we carry insurance for remodeling work, we are a Sherwin-Williams paint partner and a member of the Painting Contractors Association (PCA). Product and finish specifications are listed in your written scope.

How are payments structured?

Payments follow project milestones, not the calendar: a deposit to reserve your start date and order materials, progress payments as stages are completed, and the final balance only after your walkthrough approval.

Do you offer financing or payment plans?

Yes. For larger kitchen and bath remodels we can set up a phased payment plan, and we can point you to third-party home improvement financing so you can spread the cost monthly. Ask about options when you request your estimate.

Can we phase the project to fit a budget?

Absolutely. Many clients start with cabinet refacing, paint and hardware for immediate impact, then return later for countertops, tile or a full bath. We price each phase separately so nothing is wasted.
